Meet the Founders and Team
 

Laura Nicholson and Nicole Welbourn are working moms of two in Alexandria who fell in love with mahjong after learning to play with a small group of friends a few years ago.  

What started as a casual excuse to socialize after baby bedtime quickly became a shared passion and they knew they wanted to bring that same joy and connection to others.

 

In 2024, they founded the Alexandria Mahjong Club and have created a welcoming space for players to learn, laugh, and play together.

 

Fall of 2025 brought Kerry Delaney into the mix as our newest instructor. Her enthusiasm, patience and joy make her the perfect addition to the team. 

 

We are also so lucky to have Ellie Nicholson, our jack-of-all-trades behind the scenes. From website and event maintenance, inquiry responses and event coordination, we couldn't balance it all without her!

The four of us invite you into our tile-tapping world.
